Operation School Bell® Work Party
On September 15th we held our member work party to prepare for the September 23rd Operation School Bell clothing distribution. These work parties are a lot of “work”, but also great fun. We had two very productive sessions, one in the morning and one in the evening. Hundreds of shirts, tops, pants, undergarments and other clothing items were folded and placed on shelves or hung on display racks. Books were sorted and restocked (each student gets one new book and several gently used books at the distribution). Also, over 100 hygiene kits, each containing over a dozen household and personal items, were prepared. We are now all set for the upcoming distribution where we expect to provide school clothes and books to about 200 children from the Pomona Unified School District.
