ALPV Responds to Wildfires with Donations & Meals
In response to the recent, horrific, and devastating Southern California wildfires, members of ALPV came together to provide community support to those impacted by the devastation.
Members collected and donated supplies, including hygiene kits, toiletries, feminine hygiene products, pull-ups, Beanie Babies, and socks, to the Dena Relief Drive in Pasadena. Supplies were also taken to the Pasadena Community Relief Distribution site.
Hot meals were also needed, so the following day 57 meals were prepared by members, packaged, and transported to St. Philip the Apostle Church in Pasadena for firefighters, workers, and displaced persons.
As Assistance League had its nascent beginning with the great San Francisco earthquake and fire of 1906, community volunteering is at our core. Continuing our core mission, thankfully, our members were able to come together, communicate effectively, work quickly, and cooperatively to meet the needs of our greater community and our neighbors.
