Operation School Bell® Delivery 11/4/2015

On November 4th Assistance League® of Pomona Valley held its third Operation School Bell delivery of the 2015-2016 year school year.  New school clothing was provided to over 150 students, and over 100 sacks of clothes were distributed to family members from our Community Closet. In addition to clothing, all of the children received books collected as part of our “Make A Difference Day” Children’s Book Drive.  In its 24th year, Make A Difference Day is a USA TODAY initiative, backed by the Gannett Company and TEGNA Inc. In collaboration with Points of Light it is the largest national day of community service.  Assistance League is proud to participate in this program with the “Children’s Book Drive”, and Assistance League of Pomona Valley collected 2,727 books on October 24th for distribution to the children we serve.

The pictures below describe the program far better than any words. They also show why we are working so hard to expand our Operation School Bell program so we can serve more children with a wider range of clothing.

Special thanks to all the members and volunteers that helped with this distribution.
