Assistance League of Pomona Valley Receives Community Service Award

Assistance League of Pomona Valley is honored to have been selected as one of the recipients of the Pomona Unified School District’s Community Service Awards. This award was given in recognition of the contribution our Operation School Bell® program has made to over 1,000 students in the Pomona District during 2014-2015. The program Chairman Stephanie Roberts and Co-Chairman Sally Boyd  accompanied by President Sharon Goodrich and President-Elect Cathy Harden attended the Recognition Ceremony on April 29, 2015 to accept the award.

This award is given to individuals and organizations that provide support to students in the school district.  It is an honor to be a recipient and to be identified as an organization that is making a real difference in our community.

Assistance League of Pomona Valley is fortunate to have Stephanie Roberts and Sally Boyd, and their tireless efforts that have made our Operation School Bell® Program such a success. They have been the driving force that has grown the program from it’s beginning in 1998. Also key to the program’s success are all of the volunteers who help to prepare and to distribute clothing, books and family hygiene kits to the students.
