15th Annual “Smile With A Child” Golf Tournament/Fundraiser A Huge Success

The 15th Annual Golf Tournament was held on May 12, 2014 at Red Hill Country Club in Rancho Cucamonga. This event is the chapter’s largest source of revenue and supports our Dental Center and Operation School Bell® programs.  Held on the Monday following Mother’s Day since 2000, participation has steadily grown to a sold-out crowd.  A wonderful brunch, fantastic prizes and gifts, contests, great golf, awesome helicopter ball drop, delicious steak awards dinner, opportunity baskets and a live auction made this a wonderful and successful golf tournament/ALPV fundraiser.

The money raised from this fundraiser provides the primary source of funding for our Dental Center  and Operation School Bell®.   The dental Center serves children in grades K-8.  In 2013-2014, 516 students received over 1,500 treatments in 81 days of operation.  During the same period Operation School Bell provided clothing and supplies to 883 K-6 students from 320 families, plus additional students on an emergency basis.  Without the funds raised from this tournament those children would not receive dental care and support provided by these programs.  We thank our generous sponsors, wonderful golfers and, of course, our member volunteers (mostly unseen) for making this such a successful program.
